Big updates to Centric

Summer Release 🏖️

What a few months it’s been and thank god for the long summer days because we have been cranking out some serious updates to Centric.

Just to say, though… thank you for being an early design partner with us 🙌 ❤️
We’re a small team and moving as quickly as possible but we know it often means working with software that isn’t as deep, or as quick, as it could be. We truly appreciate you giving us such valuable feedback. We will repay you with an awesome product - promise!

Better answers to your questions

We have completed a total overhaul of how data is processed in Centric. It means that we can generate much higher quality Insights which are used to answer your questions.

The new processing flow is much more granular where each step utilises an LLM to perform a single task (instead of trying to complete multiple tasks simultaneously). By focussing on a single narrow task in each step, it performs much better.

Though it does mean our ‘time to first word’ is a bit slower. Sorry! 😢 We’re actively working on speed of answers (it’s crazy complex) but it is next on our list.

Insights Database

From the left nav bar, you can access the new Database view to browse Insights. Filter, sort, and search every customer interaction. This new Insights Database is also included to the right of every answer, so you can see the Insights and Quotes used in a response.

Gong integration

We have completed the Gong integration. Now you can add it as a Datasource and we will process the contents of calls into Insights.

Refreshed UI

We have refreshed the UI to make it easier to apply filters to questions and see the Database side view in a response.

Other updates:

  • Company and Person concepts so you can filter by specific customers or users when asking a question.

  • Better Record formats to mimic the look and feel of the original conversation in Slack, Intercom, or Gong.

  • Replaced Prisma with Drizzle as the database ORM to give us the flexibility to create more complex and optimized SQL queries. The techies told me this was really important 😅

What we’re building next

  1. Speed of response: this will be a constant effort but we hope to make meaningful progress on the speed of responses by our next release.

  2. Linear integration: using the contents of a Linear ‘issue’ as context, we will push a feedback card or comment providing relevant customer feedback to that work.

  3. Improved answers: yep, this will always be on the list 😃
